Theo Axarlis is Executive Director of Gersh Investment Partners Ltd and has over 24 years experience in property financing and development. Theo is responsible for driving the strategic direction of the firm, overseeing all aspects of the structured finance team. He sits on our Investment Committee and board of Directors.
Theo has extensive experience in all aspects of property and finance, having been instrumental in the successful delivery of several major projects in the commercial, residential, retail and industrial sectors. Formerly Chief Executive Officer and Founder of boutique private investment firm Reserve Capital Partners, Theo was responsible for structuring and delivering complex real estate transactions, advising listed and unlisted property funds, dealing with government, high net wealth private groups and institutional financiers across both debt and equity levels.
Prior to founding Reserve Capital Partners, Theo was the head of legal and commercial for Qualitas Property Partners and director of Qualitas Real Estate Finance where he was responsible for responsible for the day to administration of the Group’s overall compliance with AFSL requirements, regulatory compliance, transaction structuring, due diligence, asset management and delivering all front end project documentation relating to transaction structure, tax, financing, construction documentation and risk mitigation.
Additionally, Theo was the Chief Executive Officer of CP1 Limited, an ASX listed developer. Prior to that, Theo was Manager – Commercial & Legal for the highly-respected Melbourne property developer, Baron Corporation. A former solicitor with leading Melbourne law firm Macpherson and Kelley, Theo also has a strong legal and corporate finance background having practiced in construction law, commercial and property law. Our partners and clients draw on Theo’s knowledge and significant experience to ensure successful delivery of projects from site acquisition, financing through to completion and launch to market. Theo holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) Degree and a Bachelor of Arts Degree with a double major in Politics and Economics.
